Post-traumatic stress disorder: a more negative preconception about imagined situations

People with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) tend to evaluate supposedly neutral or pleasant situations more negatively than others, both when they actually experience them and when they imagine themselves in them. Until now, this type of negative bias had only been demonstrated in the context of lived experiences. This work, conducted by Fabien D'Hondt and the INTERACTIONS team, sheds light on the emotional difficulties faced by people with PTSD and could, in the long term, contribute to the evaluation of therapeutic interventions.
